With a moisture content of around 10–15%, these extract vanilla beans are drier than our gourmet vanilla beans, which typically hold a higher moisture content of about 30–35%. This makes them ideal for making homemade vanilla extract, brewing projects, infusions, or any recipe where the appearance of the pod matters less than pure vanilla taste.
These extract vanilla beans are perfect if you’re looking for authentic vanilla flavour at an unbeatable price. While the outer pod of these extract grade vanilla beans is much drier and more brittle than our A Grade or Gourmet Grade vanilla beans, inside they still hold a decent amount of rich, fragrant caviar packed with flavour.
Our extract vanilla beans come as a mix of both Vanilla Planifolia (Bourbon vanilla beans) and Vanilla Tahitensis (Tahitian vanilla beans). Generally more Bourbon Vanilla Beans than Tahitian Vanilla Beans. The Bourbon vanilla beans deliver that classic, rich and creamy vanilla flavour, while the Tahitian vanilla beans add sweet, floral and fruity notes — giving your extract the best of both worlds.
